Songwriting has been part of Kim Klauder's life since she wrote her
first songs at age 11. The release of her first album,
You Can Change the Ending, a collection of gentle folk/pop
ballads, fulfills her longtime dream of recording her work. Her second
album, Water continues to share her impressions on life.
Kim's writing reflects what she sees around her and what she feels
inside. "Sometimes I can't concentrate on anytyhing else until I sit
down with the guitar and let a song out."
Whether she is singing about her feelings about music, sunrises, her
travels to foreign countries, violent surroundings in our society, or
the mystical draw of the ocen, her pure voice effectively conveys the
heartfelt emotions found in her lyrics which are certain to touch many
listeners.
Kim has performed at open stage showcases at several clubs and
coffeehouses around teh Twin Cities, including Ginkgo Coffeehouse and
Dunn Brothers in St. Paul, the New Riverside Cafe in Minneapolis, Aromas
in Zumbrota and Cafe Cravings in White Bear Lake.
You Can Change the Ending has received airplay on several folk
stations around the country and earned favorable reviews.
"Klauder's own style is to bring forth simple observations with a
soaring voice and meditative tone reminiscent of John Denver's earliest
work." - Sing Out! magazine.
